A family may arrive looking for housing. Housing is rarely the whole story.
Crisis forces families to decide too quickly and with too few options. What changes that is not a single service. It is safety, enough time to think, information a family can trust, and relationships that continue past the emergency.
Nia Imani has been part of Milwaukee’s support system since 1994. Giving here funds both doors at once: safe housing for eligible mothers and their young children, and a community pathway open to fathers, co-parents, caregivers, kinship caregivers, and extended family. One coordinated model, and the follow-through that makes a referral into an actual connection.
