Building Community & Colaboration

Nia Imani Family, Inc Community

We are dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young women navigating challenging life transitions. We refer to those in our programs not as clients, but as participants, residents, and families—because every individual who enters our doors becomes part of our extended family at Nia Imani Family.

Who are our Nia Imani Family participants?

  • Young women between ages 18 and 25, including those with children ages 5 and under.

  • Young women aging out of the foster care system, whether they are single, pregnant, or parenting.

  • Individuals from underserved communities in Milwaukee County.

Many of our participants are working to heal from and overcome:

  • Childhood and generational trauma

  • Chronic homelessness and housing instability

  • Violence and sexual abuse

  • Unemployment and limited career opportunities

  • Mental health challenges

  • Educational gaps and job training deficiencies

Why Nia Imani Family?

At Nia Imani Family, we understand that safe housing is just the beginning. Our approach is holistic and trauma-informed, addressing not only physical shelter but also the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of our participants.

We provide:

  • Onsite supportive transitional housing

  • Life skills training

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Career and education support

  • Community and family-strengthening circles

Breaking Cycles, Building Futures

The challenges our participants face are deep-rooted, but we believe in the power of healing, resilience, and support to break generational cycles. By empowering participants to thrive, we’re not only transforming individual lives but also creating ripple effects that reach children, families, and communities.

Together, we are stitching stories of hope, restoration, and renewal—one family at a time.

Join Us in Supporting This Mission.

Let’s build stronger futures, together.

Give your time and talent to Nia Imani Family and make a difference in the lives of formerly homeless women and their children
